Great Auger |

This auger is a well built unit, excellent for planting trees. I decided to plant 9 fruit trees. I spent 2 hrs digging the first hole by hand to plant a 5 gal. root bundle. The ground was clay, and had to be slammed off of the shovel. I purchased the 18 9 auger and can now drill holes in about 2 minutes. The auger turns the soil into a fine, sand like powder and deposits it around the hole edge. The 9 in. bottom leaves a loose base for a tap root. The 18 in. top portion makes room to spread out the top, water-gathering roots. With powered soil, I can mix in soil additives, while pushing the soil back into the hole. The result is an excellent soil quality to get the tree started, everything accomplished in 15 mins per tree, something that cannot be accomplished by hand, even at 3 hrs per tree, because you cannot mix the soil additives into the clumps. If you are planting more than 3 trees and own a tractor, I recommend this auger.

This Auger is well built. I have used it once so far and I'm very impressed with it. The assembly instructions did have me scratching my head a few times. Some pictures of the assembled item would have helped. I still had it put together and mounted on the tractor in less than an hour by myself. Two people would have made this much easier. This is a good product and I highly recommend it.
