EA 55" Wicked Root Rake Grapple

55 Inch Wicked Root Rake Grapple

Alternative Views:

EA’s Newest Grapple Rake is a Breakthrough at just over 200 pounds. This is BY FAR the BEST strength to weight ratio in the industry. Incredibly strong construction with solid welds and added support in all the right areas gave us the confidence to test it on our 60HP Kubota L6060. We combine the best materials money can buy; a combo unlike anything else on the market. Large bore cylinders create an impressive clamping force so you can efficiently hold rocks, logs, stumps and other debris for transport. The serrated upper and lower, laser cut AR450 steel tines are serrated for incredible gripping and ripping ability. Available with Universal Quick Attach(SSQA), John Deere Quick Attach and some other pin on loader mounts. Rated for compact tractors under 40 horsepower.
If you want to push or pry trees/stumps/roots/boulders and other solid and/or embedded objects, do it with the lower tines.
Root rake top lid is designed for raking loose material backwards. With the new wickeder design, you can even pull or rake harder than before, but it is not meant to be pushed on as in pushing on trees with the lid. The new design allows it to have 20% more pulling and raking force, but if pushed on it is possible to tweak the lid. We have had a few out of 1,000 that have been tweaked, and after receiving pictures of the tweaked lids, it is clear they are using the lid to push trees which is unintended use. The warranty remains in 100% effect for pulling and clamping, but not pushing on trees or boulders.

*Notice* 8/6/2018 Instead of bolted lower runners, we will begin upgrading the lower tines with thick wall DOM tubing, which will serve as a depth gauge and add strength to lower tines. This will be more rigid and durable for rough applications.

*Primo Materials 101*

DOM, or Drawn Over Mandrel, tubing is made from a cold-drawn electrical resistance welded tube that is drawn through a die and over a mandrel to create dimensional accuracy, dependable weld integrity and an excellent surface finish(which we manually scuff so the paint will hang on). DOM has high tensile and yield strength, so It is generally chosen over welded tube where high pressure or large workloads are needed such as the manufacturing of race cars and motorcycle frames.

*NEW Enhanced, Laminated Lower Tine Design*
**Strongest in the Industry, by a LONG Shot**

The Wickeder lid,
which is standard on our Wicked 55 root rake grapple, has a serrated horizontal channel spanning entirely across the leading portion of the lid, which greatly increases the lid's ability to rake loose material into a pile, or groom and smooth soil for seeding. Raking backwards, even if it is loose material, is something that most other manufacturers do not recommend, which totally defeats a valuable feature in which a true root rake grapple is designed for. WICKED is a TRUE root rake grapple.

5 of 5 Can't Break It January 31, 2023

The part of the ad that caught my attention was the description of how tough it is. Heavy steel, carefully welded. I have done a lot of damage to a lot of equipment. I'm not working to preserve the equipment, but to get the job done and preserve my back. So I need equipment that can take care of itself. This fits the bill wonderfully, and gets the job done beautifully as well.

4 of 5 Pleased with Grapple, disappointed with delivery January 31, 2023
Reviewer: BRIAN JENSEN from GARLAND, TX United States
Ordered 9/15/2022 for $2,860.89 + $110 delivery + tax. Price dropped Oct 7 to $2,689.24 but no refund. Shipped 1/3/2023. Arrived Shreveport YRC terminal Jan 9. Sat in Shreveport until 1/19/2023 delivery. Frustrated with delivery charge when it took YRC 10 days to get it out of Shreveport. Grapple arrived with some spots scraped down to bare metal. Need to paint to prevent early rusting. Grapple now $2,399. I am pleased with the construction quality and operation so far. But, am disappointed with the 4+ month delivery from order, YRC's delayed delivery, arrival condition (maybe a YRC handling issue). In hindsight, I should have inquired about delivery terminal location and picking it up to save the $110 + tax delivery. It would be nice if EA honored the current $2,399 price and credit the $461.89 + tax difference. It was a long wait from order to delivery. Many projects were affected. Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback. I hope to hear positive reply from EA.  EA RESPONSE:  Thanks for the business and we're sorry for the carriers issues with getting it to you in a timely manner.  The freight industry has been hurting from labor shortages and it is frequently frustrating.  Our prices are determined mainly by steel pricing, which fluctuates.  As orders come in, we order steel, so the steel for your grapple was already purchased at a higher price, so we can't go back and give everyone a discount.  I hope this explains that.  Finally, the wait time is something we've been working to improve, and most grapple orders have been shipping in 3ish months or less, which has improved since the estimate build time for your order was around 4 months, which was discussed when the order was placed.  I hope you enjoy the Wickedness.  Thanks for the business and feedback.
